3D/CLOTHING

Painted Shoe Commissions (2020-Present)

I paint Vans! Well technically, I'll do any shoes, but I prefer Vans because I am a collector (hoarder) and Vans fangirl (a Vansgirl if you will). I started doing it for fun during the pandemic and have since taken on a bunch of commissions.

Spirited Away Pants (2022)

I got these pants for like $5 on clearance at Urban Outfitters because I thought they would be fun to paint. I was right! The star hole is a cut-out with embroidery floss reinforcement and the characters are from legendary Ghibli film, Spirited Away

Cloak of Protection (2020)

SCAD Challenge (Fashion) Winner 2021. This project was originally an AP Art assignment to create a response to a piece by another artist. I chose the print, “School for Spooks”, by Japanese artist, Kawanabe Kyōsai, which depicts demons and evil spirits learning in a classroom. My response to this was to up my defenses and create a “cloak of protection”. The front depicts samurai ready to fight and defend and the back hosts a fiery prison of already-captured demons trying to make their escape. The kanji on the sleeves translates to “iron wall defense” (鉄壁防御) and the writing on the front design says 悪霊退散, meaning “run back! Evil spirit!”

Plastic Kit Raincoat (2022)

2nd place, SCAD Foundation Honors Exhbition 2022 (Process Category) 3D Design project to create a wearable item out of found objects. I used the thick, plastic-y material of our portfolio kits to make a funciton raincoat! This was a fun challenge, as I'd never made full-fledged clothing before, much less a jacket.

Wire Anglerfish (2022)

An anglerfish-themed lamp concept for a Deep Sea Exhibit at an aquarium! Made entirely of wire and a singular bike lamp.

Flamingoldfish (2022)

3D Design project to combine a two animals of contrasting sizes! I chose a flamingo and a goldfish, resulting in the colorful Flamingoldfish!

Whisper Reaper (2022)

3D Character Design Project! This bad boy is the Whisper Reaper, a ghostly creature I created who can give murder victims a chance at revenge by going into the real world and hunting down their murderer(s). Think of him as a contract-killer for spirits! The Whisper Reaper has no use for human riches, and will only accept objects of great sentimental value as payment. He keeps most of these items in his horde, but dons some of his favorites, hence the seemingly-out-of-place fur cloak and rice-farmer’s hat. The name Whisper Reaper comes from his mask, which fits oddly over his mouth, making his inhales and exhales sound like a breathly, whistly, wind, the last sound his victims ever hear.
